The Realm of Bladarion is a virtual community based on the late-medieval virtues of honor, chivalry, arts, and culture. These virtues are highly esteemed and protected within the Kingdom of Bladarion; a place existing both online and in the hearts of community members, who see themselves as residents of Bladarion.
Bladarion’s residents fulfill many roles and responsibilities within the kingdom, seeing to it that the realm remains an active and vibrant community.
Brief History
The Realm of Bladarion was founded in on March 17th, 1999, by four friends who were members of another virtual realm known as Aeirvonlay. This group reluctantly left Aeirvonlay as this realm was violently changing in opposition of the values they felt were of greatest importance. This group consisted of Lord Bloke, Lord High Chancellor of Knights; Countess Seraphyna, High Priestess and Regent of Serenity Springs; Sir Loyal Devlon, the First Knight and Seraphyna's brother; Princess Gentle Devlon, wife of Sir Loyal; Sir Lancelot, the son of Lord Bloke and Seraphyna; and Squire Trojan, a loyal friend.
Their realm would consist of the lands of the Duke of Devlon, Squire Trojan's brother and Seraphyna and Sir Loyal's adopted father, combined with lands recently liberated by knights under Lord Bloke's command in a war with the Dark Knights. Three brave knights lost their lives in this war, so it was decided that the new Realm would be named in their honor. These knights were; Sir Blade, Sir Valcarion, and Sir Falchion. Countess Seraphyna fashioned the name "Bladarion" by combining the names of these three, thus their new home was born.
Governance & Organization
The Founder’s Council: Decisions and actions that affect the realm as a whole are made by agreement of the remaining founding members of Bladarion. This council is also responsible for the selection of the monarch.
Bladarion Monarchy: The visible head of the government of Bladarion is a king or queen selected by the Founder’s Council. The Monarch is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kingdom; having a central leadership role in every arm of the realm.
The Chancellery of Bladarion: The Chancellery is responsible for providing model leadership, etiquette training, event planning, and diplomatic service to the realm.
The Royal Lion Corps: The Lions are composed of Knights and Squires in military service to Bladarion who defend honor and chivalry; providing defense to residents.
The Holy Order of Bladarion: The Holy Order is an institution of faith providing chaplaincy to the residents of Bladarion through virtuous messages, counseling, and religious ceremonies when needed.
Basic Policies of Bladarion
The following are the policies Bladarion was founded upon. Bladarion is a Virtual Realm based on the Courtesy and Chivalric Ideals of the Medieval Era. While visiting here, we asked that you respect our ways as we respect yours, and that you conduct yourself in like fashion.
- All residents will have no outside allegiances or be part of another realm of group. (One Realm Policy)
- Residents are human with no special powers or abilities. (i.e. magic or shape-shifting, etc.)
- Applicants for residency will have a two week waiting period. The Founder’s Council will then vote to accept of reject the application.
- All titles are to be earned within Bladarion and will be granted at the discretion of the Founder’s Council.
- These policies can only be amended or added to by a vote of the Founder’s Council.
